Ukupna dužina razvedene obale otoka Lošinja iznosi 112,7 km. Čitava je obala arhipelaga prepuna privlačnih draga i dražica, ugodnih za kupanje i sunčanje.
Najviša planina Lošinja je šumovita Osoršćica (588 m), dugačka oko 10 km, koja se proteže uzduž sjevernog dijela otoka.
U davnoj prošlosti Cres i Lošinj bili su jedinstveni otok, tek umjetno prokopanim kanalom kod Osora, vjerojatno u rimsko doba, nastala su dva otoka koja su danas povezana cestovnim mostom i u prometnom geografskom smislu tvore jedinstvenu cjelinu.

The island of Lošinj, the eleventh largest island in the Adriatic, is 33 km long, with a width that varies from 4.75 km in the north and in the central part, to as much as 0.25 km near the town of Mali Lošinj. The total length of the indented coast of the island of Lošinj is 112.7 km. The entire coastline of the archipelago is full of attractive coves, pleasant for swimming and sunbathing.
The highest mountain of Lošinj is the wooded Osoršćica (588 m), about 10 km long, which stretches along the northern part of the island.
In the long past, Cres and Lošinj were a single island, only an artificially dug canal near Osor, probably in Roman times, created two islands that today are connected by a road bridge and form a unique whole in terms of traffic and geography.
